How Much Vacation is Enough?

In the U.S., we’re all accustomed to working 40 hours per week, 50 weeks of the year.
But is this the way it has to be?

In his best-selling book, “The 4-Hour Work Week,” author Timothy Ferris challenges us to think about what life would be like if we only worked 4 hours per week — and still made great money.

His premise is that there are soooooo many great things to experience in this world — and we’re missing out on most of them because we’re slaves to business as usual.

When I ask people how much vacation time they’d love to have each year, most respond with a minor upgrade of 4 to 6 weeks.

How much better would life be if you were able to squeeze in a week’s vacation every month? Or live like school teachers who have 8-10 weeks off during the summer (though some, I’m told, have seasonal jobs that they do to fill in their summer vacation.)

I hereby challenge you to look deep in your heart and answer the question:

How much vacation is enough for you?
